I've had my car for 1.5 years now. I know all about melted pistons too. As this season winds down, I think I finally have a handle on the 2 stroke thing, and I finally have a car that will complete an event and work well.

I can rebuild an engine top to bottom and I can rebuild carbs in my sleep. I know things about suspensions that I never dreamt of before. I know EVERY nut and bolt on my car, because I have taken apart and rebuilt or modified EVERY element of the car to suit my own wishes and standards. It's been hideously expensive, but for the past few years I've had nothing else to do with my time. This project has essentially kept me from loosing my mind while I undergo treatment for cancer and it has kept me looking forward to opportunities to go out and test my theories and the results of my work.

Every one has there own needs and wishes when it comes time to buy a car, and this car ---wreck that it was,--- fulfilled a very real need for me. Treatments are winding down and the car project is nearing an end. I'll soon enough know how effective the cancer treatments were and I expect that this weekend will tell the tale on the car.
