Those that step back and separate themselves from the TMO can look at MMY objectively and see he is not the same Maharishi we all once knew and loved, personality wise, and we can say it. Those within the TMO can't say any thing unfavorable for fear of being left out of the "will" so to speak or just fired from the only lively hood they have probably ever had. I have to agree with your accessment of his mental state based upon what I see now and the Maharishi I remember. I can also agree that it is just the mind going, along with the body and what will remain is the enlightenment in the end.
