Going slow, as MMY indicated in recent press conferences, might take hundreds of centuries (the Kaliyuga is slated to expire in 4270 centuries, but since it's behavior that determines whether an age is the Kaliyuga or Satyuga, the Kaliyuga can be foreshortened) -- Nature can only react to what humans do, by application of disease and natural disaster if wrongdoing persists, but nobody can force people to do right. Nature applies the carrot of bliss to reward right (life- supporting) behavior, and the stick of pain to discourage wrong (unhappiness-promoting) behavior, but these measures may only work over extended periods of time. Everybody gets tired eventually of doing wrong, because of the negative reaction of Nature, but the length of time that people embrace stupid human tricks can vary, so nobody can say for sure when India will be Vedic India again, but even if it takes 4270 centuries until the Sat Yuga, it will happen, because that is the cycle of nature: entropy increases until Nature can't stand it anymore, and purity and bliss are restored to life on earth.
