MUM scientists believe (if I understand them correctly) that pure 
consciousness is sorta the glue that holds the whole 
personality/behavior/whatever thing together. It's the attention-
shifting mechanism of the brain that coordinates all the parts to 
work as an integrated whole. I guess most of us aren't as integrated 
as we could be, and someone in CC is fully integrated, at least on 
the level of all the normal parts working together as one...
