--True, there's no false identification of an ego with an "I" or the
body, but the BODY is still there and carries on with the same modes
of behavior. The fact that there's no "ghost in the machine" (a term
used in physics) doesn't eradicate the fact that the bodily STILL
expresses it's own desires. To coin a new Zen Koan: "sex maniac
before Enlightenment, sex maniac after Enlightenment". But more to
the point, from what people have observed, some Gurus spend the early
part of their lives in concentrated Sadhana; and after Realizing the
Self, when tempted by the lure of fame, money, and sexual pleasures,
often given into these enticements by virtue of pent up desires and
tendences not adequately expressed in the earlier years. As if to
make up for lost time in the pursuit of bodily pleasures (again, WHO
is desiring these pleasures? The BODY itself!)..such people (certain
Gurus) sometimes fall victim to aberrations of immoral behavior even
including illegal activities.
