Yes. I have worked at centers where 3-4 of use would do 30 initiations
a day. Sometimes two days over a weekend. The "effect" is the of the
same class. As are yagyas an homas, ones that I have attended. And a
series of remote ones I once had (not M.yags).
Peter scoffs that, " Why people think that "research" regarding the ME
is sincere and real science is beyond me. John should be
ashamed of himself." While the research by TMO on ME is lacking, to
me, the Collective Consciousness Phenomenon (CCP) is quite real and
tangible (um, in its abstractness).
Peter, do you feel a CCP at the end of an AOL course when everyone is
dancing and literaly shouting out repeated bajans, and SSRI is in a
deep samadhi mode -- doing something wonderful. The CCP really quite
unmistakable. How to effectively measure? Not sure.
But I believe the stories of animals not fighting within miles of some
saint in silence. And where the lamb lays down with the lion. Its that
phenomenon.
And it can be of other flavors. For those that lived through it --
JFK, MLK, RFK assasinations, even princess Di's passing, the cuban
missle crisis, 9/11, the moon landing, Be-ins with the Grateful Dead
and Jefferson Airplane playing for free to 1000s in the park,
Woodstock, Altamont ( a different vibe), the student protests after
the Cambodia bombings in 1970, the days before and after Nixons
resignation, -- and I am sure VE and VJ day. And elections -- the day
after, major sports victories in the home town, etc. And the 4th of
July. And Christmas.
On each occasion there was a "thick" as in noticable, yet abstract as
in rarified, feeling, sense, vibe, spirit, to those events and the
days following. Some very positive and sublime. Others thick with
worry and stress. Others just kick out the jams collective happiness
and good cheer.
And to his credit, MMY was hip to creating such in many ways: group
meds, group YF (hey the effect in a large group IS tangible),
ghandarva music, yagyas, and Celebrations.
CCPs are real. TMO research on ME -- not so much.
