This is going to sound like a total non-sequitur, Rick,
but this poem made me think of "The West Wing."  Martin
Sheen's President in that series was a *teacher*.  Before
becoming President he had spent his life in servive of
others, trying to teach them useful things.  Made all 
the difference in the world.
