This of course is the whole point.

Maharishi had an obligation to keep his mouth shut about politics.  
TM is/was supposed to be for everybody: conservative, liberal, 
communist, capitalist, and everybody in between...that's what makes 
it so great.  As such, the organisation that is responsible for 
teaching and perpetuating this universal non-denominational teaching 
must maintain a non-partisanship in all things religious, 
philosophical, and political.  To do otherwise is to, by inference, 
exclude some and dissuade some from starting and practising TM.

The whole silly exercise with the NLP was a violation of the 
principle of "TM is not a religion or a philosophy" and further 
degraded Maharishi's and the TMO brand and credibility.

People aren't stupid.  When you tell them TM is universal and then go 
about being partisan, they remember.
