In general the whole affair seems to be pretty much standard cult. Makes me glad I retired from the guru worshipping business. I guess different people view it differently. I find it entertaining, in a ceremonial sort of way. I don't take the symbolism very literally, nor am I overly invested in any type of expression of Indian spirituality. I think spirituality is universal, and Indians have their own festive way of celebrating it. To each his own.
