Certainly not now, for us, perhaps millions or billions of years hence there is a small potential that the Earth could be ripped away from the Sun. But that is certainly not a here and now possibility. More likely something small like an asteroid will crash into the Earth as has happened in the past, but could cause incredible havoc. There is lots of gas in galaxies, that could cause a problem when gases collide. If there is life elsewhere, it might be in a pair of colliding galaxies.
