Well, let's just say Will was trying to load his
pro-war point by playing the slavery card.  Didn't
matter to him whether it made historical sense;
he wanted to evoke an emotional reaction that
unthinkingly equated being antiwar with being
pro-slavery.  After all, if you're at a loss for
rational pro-war arguments, what else can you do?
