I'm wondering, Vaj, what drew you to Robin in the first place. You two seem
like chalk and cheese. I see you as a mandarin-type, certainly more
intellectual than emotional, respecting and understanding different traditional
paths, and with a highly disciplined snd also nuanced approach to spiritual
practice. But Robin's gig at the time seems to have been a kind of cosmic
psychodrama with a high emotional content, led by a charismatic teacher very
much in the grip of an overpowering revelation. Quite the opposite of your
style, at least as it shows itself here. Did your association with Robin help
in clarifying for you what was NOT a legitimate approach to spirituality, in
your view, and in that sense might it be considered a learning experience? I
ask because I am intrigued. I see Robin, at least at that time, as the
romantic, driven by an intense, almost messianic fervor (although I wasn't
there), while you were . . . what? Someone who was a spiritual seeker but with
his own views still in formation?
