People, in general, have a lot of pent-up rage and grief. If you've ever worked with actors or are one yourself, you'll notice that the easiest emotion to access are rage and grief. Events are triggers that open these floodgates of hysteria. I'm sure Geraldo was quite surprised by his reaction.
