I wouldn't normally bother to deal with skepticism about one of my stories, but since Mr. Anon obviously has a burr up his butt about that one (assuming he's talking about *my* scorpion story, the one on the Web at http://ramalila.net/RoadTripMind/rtm04.html), I just can't help myself. The reason is that there is only one fictional thing in the story -- the narrator's voice. Each of the events happened exactly as described. The dialog was exactly as written, because it was transcribed from an audio tape I made of the evening. Poor Scott really did get stung on the pecker by a scorpion that he sat on, and had to be taken off to the hospital (he sur- vived, with no amputation required, for those who were concerned). The only trick I played as a writer was telling the story from the point of view of the scorpion. Unc ------------------------ Yahoo!
