The one thing that Google Groups does that Yahoo could adopt is you have to 
select the "Quote original" option to have prior post included when you write a 
post.  And if that option has been selected you still only get the reply but 
there is an option to display the quoted text.

However I'm not sure members here would like Google Groups any
      better.
