Speaking of which, I decided to try lunch at the Chinese restaurant at the top of the hill. Back in December of 2012 it closed as the folks who ran it retired. Then a new management took it opened it in January but they also closed last December. Their food was never popular and they seemed to struggle with pricing. New owners opened it this week with a 20% off grand opening sale. The first impression was not good as the sweet and sour soup was a bit luke warm. However they made up for it with this huge plate (and I do mean huge) of Kung Pao calalmari and BBQ pork fried rice the latter steaming hot right out of the wok.

I could have used some Mandarin to communicate with one of the waitresses who barely spoke English. They have freshly remodeled the place which now makes better use of space. The 20% off special is also all month.

The drought may be a bit off schedule as rain is expected tonight and more through the weekend. We may not have a worse case drought after all especially if it keeps doing this through May. But it is still chilly for California and i wish I was more of a DYI'er and I would make use of the plentiful sunlight to heat the house for free using solar water panels.

No, that yellow tinge ain't a toilet cleaner. But today it is raining
and windy in the SF Bay Area and even snow on the peaks. We can hope
this keeps up... until May.
