The restaurant I went to yesterday doesn't have any black bean sauce
dishes on the menu. What regional cuisine is that from? Most Chinese
restaurants where I grew up in the northwest were Cantonese. Later
Szechuan restaurants began opening as well as Mongolian. Thai seems to
vary quite a bit due to family traditional recipes. And of course there
northern, southern and Punjabi Indian restaurants.
That wasn't exactly a "mild rain" we got last night that is still coming
down. And more rain is showing in the forecast. Like I said last
month, the climate has changed so much that rain would probably be
delayed until late January or February. On a KGO talk show someone
called in and said that the almanac even said it would be delayed. It
was the flatlanders who were getting alarmed about a drought.
Hopefully there is no cesium in this rain. Keep an eye on that here:

You should try pork ribs with bok choy and black bean sauce, and

That's one of my favorite Chinese dishes.
Also, Jupiter, a watery graha, will be exalted this summer in the sign
of Cancer. So, it's not likely that a drought condition will occur in
California.
