 It's pretty hard to get copies of this anymore but these were letters written 
to his personal friends. It was the first book I read of his and was quite 
interesting. It gave me a pretty good glimpse into the personal, intimate 
aspect of his relationships with his friends and how "an enlightened" regular 
western Canadian guy spent his time with a small group of people.
