Yes, thats a view of reason and common sense.

Its symptomatic of a need for security, to boil everything down to
black and white views. And of dividing the world into those that have
the white views and those that have the black views. No other options
are entertained. Its a sign of a rigid and yet fragile mind and ego
structure.

Recognizing upfront that there have been gurus who score low in some
"common sense" virtue areas is a sign of a mature seeker.
Acknowledging that some "flaws" may emerge down the road is a sign of
a flexible and nimble seeker. Having some sense of potential exits, if
such guru low virtues emerge is a sign of a seeker with common sense.

To cast such seekers as locked into a disparaging mode, and as the
only possilbe explanation, is bizzare and irrational. That it comes
from a therapist is an embarrassment.
