The part that I liked was:

"People are being charged thousands of dollars for mantras that have

...which is an obvious stab at 'you know who'. And it is true. I know

at the times I stayed at the Himalayan Institute in Honesdale

initiation was always free, a gift.

About 25 years ago or so I took an audio tape of Guru Dev up to the

Himalayan Institute with a friend. Walked into the bookstore and asked

how I could see Swami Rama. As the woman was explaining that it was

difficult to see Swami Rama, he walked into the bookstore in a

bathrobe (comming out of the sauna?). He shook my hand (and kicked up

some kundalini) and I asked him about translating the audio of Guru

Dev. We walked down the hall, I mentioned teaching TM. He asked me to

leave the tape. I said yes, but thought no (it was my only copy). He

said make a copy and bring it back. I never did do that, but I was

surprised he came out to meet us and that he was as perceptive as he

was during the whole conversation. He spoke kindly of TM. I've had

occasion to hear him speak a number of times before his passing. Even

heard Dr. Chopra there at the Institute.

Yeah he didn't seem to make scheduled audiences but would just "show up"--in fact that's how a lot of the people at the institute were initiated into their meditation mantra, by running into him (or back then) Pandit Arya. One of the last times I was there, Sw. Rama put a guy into samadhi for two days, just by touching him--they actually had a room there for this. Interesting guy.
