It might help Judy and Lawson to understand the difference if they tried an effortless form of meditation, For example, if you have a friend or relative who is Christian and is opposed to Hindu meditation for whatever reason, you could accompany them a teaching session of "Centering Prayer" which is relatively effortless. It might also be helpful to figure out why some forms of meditation are considered dualistic and why. That is not necessarily a negative distinction, but it's helpful to understand since experienced meditators in other traditions will know the difference and it simply makes it easier to relate.
