The comparison to WWII Germany is apt...but from the opposite direction. Despite Churchill's warnings and calls to do something, no one did anything to stop Hitler pre-'39, despite all the signs that he would do exactly what he ended up doing (and said he would do). The comparison is to be made between Bush and Churchill, not Bush and Germany. ALL the signs were there that Iraq would take WMD and use them (as he already had). This was a man who had already invaded the Kurds, Kuwait and Iran. Millions had already died. He wasn't living up to his treaty promises. 17 Resolutions demanded that he comply and he snubbed his nose at the international community. No one wanted to act; Bush acted.
