There was a long silence. It's fairly well documented that most of our wars have been fought over oil. The Japanese were trying to get control of Indonesian oil fields. The Germans were after the Middle East and Russian reserves. And if anyone thinks we are in Iraq to bring them liberation from Saddam or to fight terrorism there rather than here I have a bridge to sell them.
