The Japanese were raping just about all of Asia for every resource they could get. They attacked the US because we set up an embargo against them and would not sell them scrap metal because of their invasion of China. The Nazis were trying to rule the world and create a master race. And the United States is trying to break a cycle of dictatorships and poverty in the middle east in hopes that a democracy would have a positive influence in the region and spread to other nations so all the people  can enjoy their countries resources, not just a select few.
