I'd like to know if she skirted the Malawi adoption law at all, due
to her money.

I can't stand Westerners going to third world countries, bucking
their culture and flaunting themselves, and then tromping off never
to be seen again. It goes back to something that happened when I
was in Kashmir in '81 for a month-long TM course.

We were all on house boats on Lake Dal. Next to our boat were three
Dutch tourists - two gorgeous women in their 20s and a fellow -- and
they decided that they would sunbath nude on the roof of their
houseboat.

Srinegar is 95% Muslim. You simply don't sunbath nude when a good
proportion of the local women are veiled (and the rest are, to put
it mildly, conservatively dressed). But because they were
Westerners and they had money, they just assumed they could get away
with it.

It was complete disrespect for the culture of the place where they,
the Europeans, were the guests.

I view Madonna similarly. She's an interloper. And I don't give a
fuck for her millions and how much she gave to some orphanage there
and how allegedly great a life she will give Little David, the
adoptee. What she did if truth be told is she swept into a Third
World country and bought a human being. She used her money and her
status as a world renouned pop star to get her hands on another
human being. And if what I've read in media reports is true, she
skirted Malawi law because of her money and her celebrity.

I think it's despicable and I think she's despicable.

And that's why I would just love to see her get her come-uppance.
Yes, let's see what her celebrity and her money will get her when
the meek powers that be in Malawi get a glimpse of how utterly
her "culture" stands in opposition to theirs. Let's see how quickly
they'll snatch back that child when they take a gander at that book.
