I don't know whether Madonna cares what people think or not, I would have thought that she, like most people, doesn't. But I'm interested in what Maharishi approves of because it says a lot about him. I consider what I've read of the celebrity side of kabala to be a load of horseshit. Perhaps it's a case of bandwaggon jumping, I remember J Hagelin did a lecture tour with the author of "conversations with god" one of the worst books I've ever come across.
