Mahesh Yogi must have been a really important and powerful clerk to get Shantinand installed as the Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath! Mahesh must have lots of friends in India to pull something like that off. And how do you explain the fact that Shantanand inherited the Jyotirmath property and all the accoutrements of the gaddi?
