Er, karma is a matter of physical and manmade law. Certainly, for the manmade part, a man's debts are inherited by his children, to some extent. What is so outrageous about assuming that more subtle debts are also inherited by his children? "The sins of the father are visited upon the sons, yay unto the 10th generation..." or something like that. Jewish reincarnation theory certainly seemed to imply the same kind of thing.
