---Simple: the other side of the coin of (effective, real) prediction of trends the remedial aspect. "Heyam Dukham Anagatam"...; head off the bad karma before it occurs; if not totally, then mitigate the influence as much as possible. The remedial aspect includes the chanting of mantras, doing pujas, commissioning pundits to perform yagyas, wearing certain gems, etc. Also, somewhat superficial actions can be taken if possible; for example, if a certain day has strongly malefic aspects, don't travel on that day.
