Bush (that is Cheney) cancelling the 08 election is something we should be thinking about. The Presidency has certainly been giving the authority.... & no one strongly protested the US use of torchure, people being "disappeared", flagrant disrespect for laws for ones cronies... this is clearly an administration capable of anything. The parallels to Germany in the 30's are all there. But it would be done with the help of some "homemade" terrorist activity (like perhaps 9-11, like the "attack" on the of Gulf of Tonkin which got us in to Vietnam some threat will be created so marshal law will be needed around election time... What can we do?
