One of the ways I got around the not-writing me back- thing was to send the 
note to the author, and say "unless I hear otherwise, I will assume that 
you give permission. The archive is at.... and your story will be archived 
within a week". :-P Then, once it was online, I sent them a confirmation, 
thanking them for permission.

But yeah, I still had a folder of stories I never got around to.

Not that I do archiving anymore ;-) But how do the rest of you handle that 
aspect? Like Alice said, what happened in XF has happened in Stargate- 
lists have splintered and fractured. At least, the way Alice has my 
archives set up, I can give each list the URL to directly search for their 
own archives.

But there are so many lists, and each one has to have its own rules. How do 
you get around those rules for your archives?
