Hi Real-ajax, I think you have hit the nail right on the head with all ther things you said.
I have been trying to convince my manager that farcry may be worth looking at for integration into our Intranet. I had a meeting today with my manager, it was the first time he has seen this system and he mirrored everything you have said above. Now i really wanted this to work as i can see its potential so i started to defend farcry saying it could be a quite powerful application but you are right, we are going to hit problems. For example, we want to role this out so that super users throughout our company can manage their own content on their own homepages, adding news, menu items etc etc. but we have a problem, its not very easy and intuitive to use. Even creating a simple page and trying to add images all seemed to use a non-logical way of doing things, we struggled with it so our users will also struggle even more. I have spent alot of my own time trying to understand the application, how the workflow works etc etc but in the end i daren't release anything to my userbase. A larger problem i have is that it just doesn't install correctly in an IIS6 Oracle 10g CF8 environment. The installer installed correctly, after a second attempt, but it throwing errors up left right and center. I get the impression from talking to users here that they have had to tweak the system alot to get it to work on different platforms. I am really dissapponted with it and after hearing what my manager said and reading through your post i think i have been beaten, we are going to move to something else. jedi On Dec 10, 3:46 pm, real_jax <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hi all, > > I recently started to use Farcry.
