The app I'm dealing with doesn't have all that many custom types, etc. Because of time crunches, we're forced to implement some things slightly against the grain of the FC framework.
HMS seems to cram a few more sites per server than I would like, leading to the performance issues for the FC installs. An extra complication is that the original site was set up without its own sandbox, so when I ran the installer it started copying FC files into the main CF8 context... which took down another one of our clients sites on the same server for a while. We're still not getting the icons on the admin tray to show due to permission errors trying to read from c:\ColdFusion8\wwwroot\farcry\etc ... This could possibly be adding to our startup time as well, I suppose. Anyway, this project was ORIGINALLY planned to be on a VPS, but was downgraded last moment, which has caused us a few issues (aside from App startup, there's also the issue that HMS's shared hosting has ZERO options for URL rewriting, so I had to hack together a way to use 404s to handle FURLs, which itself has interesting side-effects...) --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "farcry-dev" group.
