Dunno about CrystalTech but in oz Austiger already have a bunch of guys using FarCry on their system (and they maintain the latest version of the core). FastHit have free trial accounts for the next month or so (I think) and then they will also have a FarCry hosting package (should be cheaper than AusTiger, but not as many users).

Hi,
First I want to congratulate everyone involved with developing FarCry it appears to be an excellent product and starting point for developing dynamic content driven sites.
New here and just about to sign up for a new shared hosting for a farcry site. I have a couple of questions:
My intended hosts, CrystalTech.com does not allow access to directories outside of the webroot for security reasons. I see from earlier posts that the recomendation is for farcry to be installed outside of the webroot for security reasons. Is there going to be any issues by going with CrystalTech? I hop not as they are a very reliable host that I have used before.
I assume that i would upload to two directories withing the webroot and get CrystalTech to set up the mapping and everything would work OK. I can set directory permissions from my conrtol panel for any directoies within the webroot - would this provide a more secure application? If so what should i protect and to what level.
Looking throught the documentation of friendly URLs there seems to be a lot to be done that a shared hosting account ISP would be unwilling to do to enable friendly URLs functinoing. Am I right in this and if so are there any alternatives? I really want to use friendly URLs.
Thanks in adavance for any assistance and what an excellent product, Chris.
