Yes - I agree with Geoff on this (and mentioned it in an earlier post).

In the case being discussed, it was mentioned that the provider would set
up mappings - but seemed to be reluctant to point the "home" at the
../farcry_project/www. I would have thought they would be more reluctanct
to set up mappings that point at a different webroot.

As I have been indicating all along, as soon as you can do something like
this (get them to point your site to a different webroot in your branch),
then you should be able to easily adjust things to make FarCry work.

You could even have a directory structure like this.....

../yourbranch/farcry_core...
../yourbranch/fourq...
../yourbranch/farcry_project/www (etc).
../yourbranch/{other isp protected directories}

And get the provider to make your site be pointed at the
../yourbranch/farcry_project/www

Then the "FarCry" root directory becomes:

../yourbranch

Aside from that, FU does have some issues running in a shared environment.
Most ISPs are not likely to install a Java servlet without having the
source code to know what it is doing. Also, FU uses a file in the same
directory as the .class file to map all the URLs. Using FarCry to create
this file would mean that all the shared instances of FarCry would
overwrite the file.
