Try your webserver error logs. Running Coldfusion there is the CFIDE dir, this is normally a softlink(*nix).

If so it is very likely to be a CSS issue. Change the Height parameter in the Admin/General/Config Files/SoEditor to be an integer value rather than a %. Do not add "px". This worked for me. Chris.
