Hi, please give some more details on your /dev/hda1 problems... - which FreeDOS kernel version? - LBA disk? Where on disk is the partition? - do you have space to make a diskimage of the partition? - can dosfsck 2.8 (of dosfstools.rpm) fix the partition / what kinds of bugs does it show? Preferably try to fix only the diskimage or use the -r -V mode (first simulate changes and ask before writing them). - remember that FreeDOS needs additional drivers for the long file names, but should be able to use the FAT32 disk with short file names, showing names like c:\windows\progra~1\ ...
Eric - what FreeCOM command.com version did you use (it contains DIR)? Current versions: FreeCOM 0.83 beta 0.54 FreeDOS 2027 CVS >= 11 Nov 2002 DOSFSCK 2.8 (I have a DOS version 2.8.2 but it cannot WRITE to disk and does not handle partitions of > 2 GB or access from a Windows DOS box). Eric. PS: You can get the 11 Nov kernel from me if you do not want to download from CVS. It is - without sources and quite messy - somewhere in http://www.coli.uni-sb.de/~eric/stuff/soft/ ... ---------- list options/archives/etc.: http://www.topica.com/lists/fd-dev unsubscribe: send blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ==^================================================================ This email was sent to: [email protected] EASY UNSUBSCRIBE click here: http://topica.com/u/?bz8Rv5.bbRv4l.YXJjaGl2 Or send an email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] T O P I C A -- Register now to manage your mail! http://www.topica.com/partner/tag02/register ==^================================================================
