Hi, the 512 MB limit is by the BIOS. You should set your BIOS to
support 8 GB. For more, you need LBA. FreeDOS uses LBA, but normally
only for data past 8 GB or past the first 1024 cylinders (I hope that
it autoselects "whichever is less"!!!). Unless somebody configured the
beta 8 H1 kernel to never use LBA (can be done with "sys config"), there
should not have been any troubles.
