Yeah, rebooting should fix all caching problems :-)

Perhaps the font files themselves got corrupted? Try to reinstall them (dejavu
if I look at the screenschots) if you haven't already.

Is this only a few fonts that have this problem or all of them? What about
non-GTK applications?
