Agree, I never saw the point in getting a purpose driven e-reader, but have 
started using my ipad for some books (particularly the ones I need to buy and 
read before tomorrow for something)

You'll find a bunch of book sellers will provide kindle AND epub(ipad version) 
as well as tree versions.
