To be honest I think it comes down to money and purpose. I commute and
travel by train a lot. I therefore have a kindle. I love reading books on it.
With all due respect to Ray, I much prefer to read on the Kindle's screen than
on the iPad (which I also have). But the kindle is in no way a tablet. And that
is not what I want it for. It is what it says an e-book reader.  But equally
for certain authors (mostly prolific writers where I collect the books) I buy
the book as well. :-) If I couldn't afford to get the books in both formats I'd
still rather have the actual book....

I'm old school. I like books. If you're looking for the best of all answers,
consider an iPad with Kindle software and ebook reader software, that way you
get everything.  If price is an issue, the b&w Kindle is a nice alternative,
but you're limited to Amazon's stuff (unless you have the means to convert
software on your computer and load it to the Kindle).

Best, R.E.F.
