Actually not true. VAT, or other sales taxes, across borders do have different 
rules, such as intrastat, to do with point of sale etc. Plus it adds a layer of 
complexity in terms of foreign currency transactions and uncertainty over 
profit margins as rates fluctuate.

Well,

There is no issue in taxes or whatever between the UK and the rest of Europe. 
If you pay taxes in the UK I don't  have to pay for them in Holland. Same with 
customs. That's because we are part of the Economic European Community.

There is the possibility of an advertising issue. English books on the Dutch 
market are imported anyway, but it could just as well be a publishing rights 
issue.
