Yes, you are correct. But in return for this continuity glitch, we get
something very, very cool. We get a very revealing chapter about Nakor AND we
get a glimpse into why Beleg and Child were given Nakor's and Miranda's
memories. Love. It's that simple. Beleg, through Nakor's experience with
Borric and Jorna, learns about -- and truly feels -- the love for a person and
the love of country necessary to bring redemption to the Fifth Circle. Think
about why Child/Miranda was shown the Paradise Lost scene. Seems out of place
in this story, no? But not when you remember that "Miranda" is a demon. That
was the history or her people, to whom she is going to return at the end of the
story. With Beleg/Nakor and Child/Miranda, the Ultimate or Mind or whatever
you want to call it was killing two birds with one stone: helping to save the
whole universe from the Dread and also sending hope for redemption to millions
of demons damned as a result of the original fall from grace.

I'm usually not a stickler for little things, and overall I really enjoyed
Magician's End....BUT.. Am I the only one who noticed that Jorna was actually
killed by Nakor in Shards of a Broken Crown (she transferred to Kahil's body)
after he killed Fadawah, and not the demon? Normally, it would be a small
point, but since the incorrect reference to being killed by Jarkan the Demon is
found on at least a half dozen pages, it irks me a fair bit.
Kind of changes the story a fair bit: "What's the last thing you remember,
Jorna?" "Being killed by you, Nakor, being bathed in white light from your
staff"

Best,
Phil
