I've used darcs for a couple of my own small projects and I really like it. It looks to have all the features needed to do things like mailing list integration (though I've never used them myself). I chose it because I'm often without a net connection (e.g. laptop)... not having to have a central repo is a big help! However Darcs has a dark side... I've never encountered it, but there's a subtle bug regarding repos with lots of conflicts that shows up from time to time that can crash Darcs [1]. The current advice is "be careful" (i.e. avoid lots of conflicts) until the developers can come up with a solution. A possible alternative is Mercurial [2] which (although it doesn't have a "theory of patches" behind it) has many of the same features as Darcs and is faster in some instances. It's written in Python. I've never used it myself so I can't vouch for it though. - Chris [1] http://lists.osuosl.org/pipermail/darcs-users/2007-March/010874.html [2] http://www.selenic.com/mercurial/wiki/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
