I am sorry to hear this. My Squeaky (feLV+, 22 years old) lived 3 weeks after cancer diagnosis. I made the tough decision when he quit eating and started hiding. Sounds like Bernie still has quality. Glad to hear that. Ps cats also purr to comfort themselves...I don't necessarily look to that but DO consider if they are still eating, breathing, walking and not hiding. God bless,
