I don't know - but what helps one of my FIV+ cats who gets crystal, is putting apple cider vinegar into the water - good quality, of course, and start with a drop, slowly build it up to more to acclimate a cat to it. I add ACV to my bottles of drinking water - makes the water taste so much better. I also add Vitamin C in crystal form to the food, in very small amounts, slowly building up - I mixed it with biotin, now I will mix with the NutraMin.
