I had a vet that used a control stick to yank my cat off the floor and then slammed her into the carrier against the wall. Good vets are ahrd to find.

Barbara, I am absolutely amazed by the veterinarian's response to your
situation. Absolutely astounded. Truly, your best bet is to move on, as it seems
many other clients as well as former employees, and even COLLEAGUE, have done.

It amazes me that people like this go into medicine. The very first vet that
I had for my very first cat (who remains my only pet cat, Wynnie, FeLV
negative) was just a traumatic experience for me. They stuffed her in one of those
sacks in order to take blood, and they left the room with her; I don't know
what they did, but they traumatized her. Up until very recently, she would
hyperventilate at any vet's office--foam at the mouth, void her bowels, vomit,
to the extent that the vet asked me whether she was always like this because
he was concerned that she was ill. I will never forgive that first vet for
damaging my baby. Our newest vet is a dream (Dr. Jamison DeSantis at Oradell
Animal Hospital in Oradell, NJ, not the same vet that cares for the FeLV
fosters) and Wynnie has relaxed a little bit...but it costs an arm and a leg to see
him. I'm glad that the vet who cares for the fosters is as kind with
discounting our visits (he's been amazingly generous, which is why we see him) but
his facilities are tiny and primitive, and he can be a bit brusque. I could
never take Wynnie there, she'd have fits.

In any case, it sounds like the best thing is to move on. I cannot believe
some people are such jerks though, I really can't.

Melissa
