Thanks, Lisa. I have been reading other places about
this stray tissue phenomenon. I'm wondering if that's
a possibility. Although with no surgical scar I have
other suspicions.
We have heard back from the rescue group and they are
taking responsibility for her spay. They will cover
the costs at our vet. I don't think they did anything
wrong other than employ a crappy vet (remember she
also has dental disease and heart murmur that was not
in her records).
Now I'm just concerned that we are cutting her open
for no reason. It is the best vet clinic in town -
everybody verifies that. I'm not worried about the
competence of the vets and they take good measures
with surgeries - pre-surg blood work, IV cath
required. I wish there was a better way to verify she
needs this than checking for a scar or testing her
hormone levels with an expensive test.
The president of the rescue group is supposed to call
my b/f back to discuss if they can/will cover a
portion of the other vet bills due to her positive
status. I'll take a look at the contract this
weekend.
Thanks everyone! I hope everybody's kitties have a
good Thanksgiving and are thankful for having you to
take care of them. I'm thankful my 2 are happy and
healthy and that Gary is a little fighter (the
stinker!)
