Michelle,
We all wish you and Simon the best he has one dynamite mom, to care and love him.....brings tears to my eyes. Making that clal is very hard I had to did it 6 years ago to a 24 year old Persian named Mariah, thank goodness for her it was old age.

kiss he purrs louder.. My partner says this is why he has trouble with
euthanasia-- twice now we thought he was dying and then all of a suddent he wants
pets, food, water, etc. This happened with one of my other cats several times
over the course of a few weeks (though I do not think Simon has more than
another day or two, especially given that all he's had to eat today is about 4
bites of wet food and I am not going to syringe him anymore after what happened
yesterday). But I don't want to euthanize him if he is still able and wanting
to have his belly rubbed for an hour while purring. That makes it seem to me
like he still has some pleasure and comfort in life. Yes, rollercoaster i! s the
right word. I have a tranquilizer I can give him if he gets in obvious
distress and someone I know can come to the house to euthanize him if I can reach
her. I just don't want to call her unless I have really decided, because
knowing her I think that she would say, even now, that it is time just because he is
obviously not going to recover.
