Don't feel horrible if Simon won't eat. I know you want to feed him and rally him to have him around much longer, of course.....but sick is not the same as passing. When an animal/even a person has had enough...they realize, often, that their body no longer needs or is capable of processing food...and forcing it might bring too much stress. Yes, make the shake for him if you would like to, by all means!....but if he doesn't eat, don't allow yourself to believe that you didn't try hard enough, or try the right things....Even animals know when enough is enough.
That said, I hope the liver shake works for you.
